Madden, Pizza Hut strike eSports’ first-ever virtual stadium sponsorship deal. Why do you think it took this long to execute something like this?
The virtual stadium sponsorship deal between Madden and Pizza Hut seems like a no-brainer in today’s current climate of fandom; however, we can only imagine what pitching the idea must have been like. How foolish that executive must feel now if they drug their feet on executing this campaign for anything longer than 10 minutes. It’s a natural deal, that capitalizes on an existing contract between the NFL and Pizza-Hut, lending the strength of the brand from the Sunday juggernaut.
Do you anticipate that EA will replicate this type of sponsorship across its other sport focus games?
EA has demonstrated over the years that financial gains solely drive them. If the Madden Pizza-Hut partnership proves to be profitable, I have no doubt EA will replicate this model across their franchised sports games.
