Logan McLean, Esports Advisor, for NGame Esports provides commentary on the RFRSH Entertainment restructure with Astralis and Origen.
RFRSH Entertainment recently split from Astralis and Origen and the teams will now fall under RFRSH Teams. The split seems like regular activity when an organization with multiple brands looks to restructure. Do you feel this is the case, or is it something else?
I would consider this a typical split, entirely business as usual. In this case, you had two competitive entities, with competing interest directly managed and owned by the same company. Now RFRSH has a more transparent structure and should prevent any conflict of interest.
There are a considerable amount of organizations in esports that have become a house of brands. Do you anticipate the RFRSH restructure repeated across the industry?
This model is consistent with every top-tier esport brand. The restructuring is long-anticipated in the industry and is a successful model. RFRSH re-demonstrated its commitment to the sustainability of the industry, by taking extra steps to provide transparency to fans regarding the financial health of teams, Astralis and Origen as well as their futures.
